We use the Swiss Water Process to decaffeinate our coffee. This method is completely chemical-free and uses only water to remove 99% of the caffeine. The coffee beans are soaked in hot water to extract caffeine and other soluble compounds, and then the caffeine is filtered out through activated charcoal. After that, the water is reintroduced to the beans to reabsorb the coffee's original flavors. This gentle, all-natural process ensures that our decaf coffee maintains its rich, aromatic taste without the use of solvents or chemicals, so you can enjoy the full flavor without the caffeine.
Yes! We are committed to ethical sourcing and fair trade practices. We carefully select coffee beans from farmers who prioritize sustainable agriculture, fair wages, and environmentally responsible farming methods.
Made from coffee beans that come from a single location, such as a farm, cooperative, or country. Single origin coffees tend to have a more unique flavor profile, with notes of citrus or florals. They are usually roasted lighter to bring out these subtle aromas and tasting notes.
Made from coffee beans that come from multiple locations, such as different countries, regions, or growing areas. Blended coffees tend to have a more well-rounded flavor profile, with notes of nutty, chocolate, and caramel. The roaster balances the body, acidity, and flavor profile of the coffee components.
Delicate flavors, light and fruit forward
A light roast results in a coffee bean that is lighter in color and has a higher level of acidity and a more delicate flavor profile. Light roast coffee typically has a slightly fruity or floral taste with notes of citrus or berries, and again is often preferred by coffee connoisseurs who want to taste the unique characteristics of the bean.
Bold flavors with nuance and complexity
Medium Roast coffees are generally crowd pleasers. Whether you have a connoisseur or an every day drinker, a medium roast is sure to please. Medium roast coffees have a flavor profile that is less delicate than light roasts, but not as bold as dark roasts, and often have a slight sweetness and nuttiness. This type of roast is popular among coffee drinkers who want a well-rounded flavor profile that isn't too strong or too mild.
Bold strong flavors, with a kick!
Dark roast coffees are for people who want a “good ol’ fashioned cup of joe.” These coffees have a robust flavor profile that generally carries notes of chocolate, caramel, or even smokiness. They may have a slightly bitter aftertaste. Best for the coffee drinker who wants a strong, bold flavor.
- Use freshly-drawn cold water. If your tap water does not taste good, try bottled water. Filtered water is best.
- Measure accurately, never guess! Use one standard coffee cup (6 oz) of cold water. Start by using either one level tablespoon for a mild cup or two level tablespoons for a strong cup and then adjust the measurement to your taste preference.
- Be certain that your coffee maker is clean and that you
follow the manufacturer’s instructions for brewing. - Immediately following brewing remove the coffee grounds from the brewer. Give the brewed coffee a quick stir and serve as soon as possible for maximum flavor and aroma.
